Can I get married in a church?
There are many beautiful churches on the island that are available for a fee. If you are divorced some churches will not marry you without the Minister offering counseling prior to your marriage.
How much is this going to cost?
If your wedding involves the ceremony, cocktails and a reception, we really don’t know until we know more about the event. Usually it is the first question, but so much depends on what you want. There is a tremendous difference in cost if it is a catered affair under a tent or if you choose to buyout a restaurant for the evening. A band will cost more than a D.J. A photographer for the evening along with a videographer will cost more than a two hour photo coverage. Often as a couple finds out more, they want more! Our responsibility as your wedding planner is to keep you informed during the process and keep things within your pre defined budget. You are in control of the costs based on the selections you make.
When do I pay for my wedding?
A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reserving your date with the balance for all services due three weeks prior to your wedding. For larger affairs, a 25% deposit is required once you have selected the professional vendors who will be working on your wedding.
Once you have paid Bermuda Bride, we will pay the vendors on your behalf. Payment is accepted in U.S. dollars or equivalent. You may pay by credit card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express) for which there is a 4% service charge. You can also settle your account by Cashiers Cheque/Draft or through an International Money Transfer.
How much should I tip our service providers, if at all?
A tip is not expected and it will not be added to your account. However, if you have received exemplary service, tipping is at your discretion. We do not add a 15% fee on any of the services that are arranged. However, most restaurants in Bermuda automatically add a 15% gratuity to your bill for your convenience.
We would like to organize events surrounding our wedding day. Can Bermuda Bride make these arrangements too?
Yes, most of the information provided within this website is for an intimate wedding. Regardless of the size or your wedding, we are often asked to synchronize, down to the last detail, different events and functions, for example:
Transportation to and from the airport
Sightseeing and Nature tours of the island
Historic Walking Tours
A Welcoming Cocktail Party
Post wedding brunch
A golf or deep sea fishing tournament
Gifts and a Schedule of Events to be placed in each guests’ room.
Where can I get married?
There are many, many breathtaking locations around the island. Bermuda Bride does not restrict you as to where you can get married. We work with you to identify the location you are looking for and then make appropriate suggestions. You may wish to be married in a lush garden setting, on a cliff top overlooking the South Shore, under a moongate, barefoot in the sand, on a luxury motor yacht or sailboat, in the grounds of your hotel or in the Registrar General’s office. The choices are endless.
What if it rains?
In the summer months, it can pour with rain and five minutes later you would not even know it had rained at all! For outdoor ceremonies, we strongly suggest a tent is erected to provide sun shelter and rain coverage. This must be ordered in advance, or an alternative location be used. Should it rain on your wedding day and you wish to have additional photographs the following day, this can be arranged at an additional cost and depending on the photographer’s availability.
